Mysore Dasara 2023: Mysore Dasara, which commences on October 15, is a regal splendor and divine fervor celebration. This ten-day festival is celebrated with pomp and magnificence by the Wadiyar couple and the city as a whole. The celebration is replete with religious significance. Goddess Chamunda vanquished Mahishasur, a demon. Following his demise, the metropolis was rechristened Mysuru or Mysore. Devotees constructed a Chamundeshwari temple. The day commences with the Wadiyar royal couple presenting incense to this deity, which is subsequently followed by an extensive array of cultural activities, including a special durbar (royal assembly). A magnificent procession is conducted on the tenth day, (Vijaydashmi).
