Taking #MeToo to another level, Nana Patekar and three others have been booked on molestation charges of another actor on the sets of a movie said police. The case was registered against the veteran actor with the police after a Bollywood actor accused Nana of sexually harassing her on the sets of the film in 2008. However, no arrest has been made so far.
The actor got her complaint registered with Oshiwara Police Station against Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddhiqui and director of the film Rakesh Sarang.
“We have registered a case against Patekar and others under section 354 – Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty, and 509 – word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman of IPC,” said west Region Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Sharma.
The police also assured of investigating the case and said that the enquiries are on into the matter.
“We are investigating the case and enquiries are on with this regard. Earlier in the evening, the actor had reached the Oshiwara Police Station in Burkha to record her statement regarding the case. After recording the statement, the police registered the offence late midnight,” said a police official.
