National Plus Size Appreciation Day 2020: From Adele to Demi Lovato, here are celebrities who quashed plus size stereotype and rocked the floor

“Beauty comes in all sizes.”

National Plus Size Appreciation Day is celebrated on October 6 every year. The day highlights that no matter how your body looks, it is beautiful. It teaches to accept oneself the way they are and not go by presumptions of people or their talks.

For women, of whom the term plus-sized has traditionally been most associated with, clothing size 14 and above is considered plus-sized. The term arrived in the early twentieth century, and was applied to the clothing itself at first, and not about the women wearing it.

It became popular after Lane Bryant, a women’s clothing store, began advertising “misses plus sizes” in 1922. Not many years later, “misses” was removed and the clothing simply became known as “plus sizes.” Other clothing stores besides Lane Bryant began offering the clothing. By at least the mid-1950s, the term was applied to women themselves, not just to clothing.

On the occasion of National Plus Size Appreciation Day, here are celebrities who flaunted their plus size bodies with confidence:

Demi Lovato

The gorgeous Demi Lovato was ruthlessly bashed on social media for her plus size. Nevertheless, she flaunted her body with no regrets and still looked breath-taking.
