Odisha: Cops attacked inside police station in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A group of miscreants allegedly attacked cops inside the Saheed Nagar Police Station, resulting in four cops sustaining critical injuries.

As many as 8-10 miscreants first attacked three people, detained at the police station in an accident case. Cops then tried to stop the attacked, who then thrashed four police officials, which included an Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), as reported by OdishaSunTimes.

Police have detained six persons in connection with the attack.

Earlier in another news from Odisha, in early February, tensions rose in the seaport town (Paradip) after farmers engaged in a scuffle with cops following the farmers’ attempts to get in to the IOCL Paradip Refinery. Reportedly, thousands of landless farmers and their family members have been carrying a protest in front of the refinery, demanding permanent jobs. Police had Sunday, detained more than a hundred agitators to avoid any law and order situation.

The activists under the banner of Jamihara Krushak Ekta Manch had protested the detention and attempted to barge into the refinery.
