Diwali 2022: The festival of lights has arrived, and people are preparing to enjoy it with great pomp and circumstance, especially in India.
Deepavali is the time of year when people become homebound to celebrate with family, friends, and loved ones, from decorating their homes to cleaning and donning new clothes during Diwali-specific cleaning.
During Diwali, many individuals perform Lakshmi puja to attract prosperity and goodness into their life. It is thought that Diwali dispels darkness with love, light, and good fortune. People worship the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and invite her blessings into their homes. Lakshmi puja is performed five days after Durga Puja in states like West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha.
In preparation for worshipping the goddess Lakshmi at Diwali, we have compiled a list of bhog items that may be offered to her.
Offer these bhog items to Goddess Lakshmi
Gur halwa is a delicious dessert made with jaggery, semolina, and almonds that can be offered as a prasad to Goddess Lakshmi and then shared with family.
Panchamrit is composed of five ingredients: honey, curd, milk, ghee, and sugar. This is offered to the Goddess during the puja, and then distributed as prasad to the worshippers by the spoonful.
Kheer is thought to be one of Goddess Lakshmi’s favourite desserts. Rice is slow-cooked in milk to make kheer, which is then topped with almonds.
During Diwali, Lord Ganesha is also honoured alongside Goddess Lakshmi. Boondi Laddoo, or laddoos in general, are thought to be Lord Ganesha’s favourite dessert. Boondi Laddoo is an excellent bhog meal that can be presented to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
Any celebration is lacking without Kaju Barfi. Everyone delights in enjoying this well-liked confection. During the puja, Kaju barfis are also offered as bhog to the goddess and then distributed to worshippers.
