Yogesh Brar, via Pricebaba, has claimed that the highly anticipated OnePlus Fold smartphone will be released in the first half of August and unveiled at a live event in New York.
This launch schedule makes sense given the accelerated growth of the foldable market. The OnePlus Fold can readily compete with the already announced Google Pixel Fold, the Oppo Find N2 foldable, and the Moto Razr 40 Ultra, as its release is scheduled for August. Even Samsung is anticipated to release its Z fold series devices in July.
The selection of New York as the event’s location is also logical. Given that this is OnePlus’ first foray into the foldable smartphone market, it is crucial for the company to penetrate into the Samsung-dominated U.S. foldable market. With the entrance of Google, Oppo, and Motorola into the foldable market, the tides have begun to shift.
