Indus App Store: PhonePe, an Indian fintech startup sponsored by Walmart, has launched the Indus AppStore. The app store will provide Indian users with localized services, such as support for 12 Indian languages, a dedicated payment gateway, and a customer support team based in India. Herein are the specifics.

PhonePe App Store in India

One of its defining characteristics is that Indus AppStore does not charge developers any platform fee or commission on in-app purchases. This is a significant departure from Google Play Store, which charges between 15 and 30 percent commission.

PhonePe also provides complimentary app listings for the first year, after which a nominal annual fee is charged. This makes it a desirable option for new businesses and app launches.

“Launch Pad” is the platform’s dedicated platform for startups and new app launches. This will improve their search engine optimization and visibility, allowing them to reach more users. App publishers will also be able to increase brand recognition with the help of compelling videos.

The Indus Appstore is intended to provide developers with an alternate distribution channel to access the Indian Android market and to aid them in the acquisition of high-quality users through multilingual app discovery.

PhonePe has partnered with a number of phone manufacturers to disseminate the app store on their devices. The startup also stated that it has established a developer support team in India.

PhonePe believes that the Indus AppStore will provide developers in India with a credible alternative to the Google Play Store. The company believes that the localization features and developer support of the Indus AppStore will attract developers, particularly startups and new app launches.

The company’s entry into the app store market is the most recent in a string of expansions into new categories. PhonePe introduced an e-commerce app earlier this year and Share. Market, an app that allows users to establish trading accounts and invest in stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs, last month.
