Rajasthan: 73% MLAs crorepatis, says report

Ahead of assembly election in Rajasthan, an interesting report presented by Election Watch claims that of the 200 MLAs of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha, 145 are crorepatis. As per the affidavits were given to Election Commission of India 73% of the MLAs own assets of Rs 1 crore or above.

The crorepati MLAs comprises both BJP and Congress, including 120 of the BJP, 14 of the Congress, 1 of Zamindara Party and 10 Independents. Interestingly another report of Election Watch tells that the ‘richer you are, the higher are your chances of getting elected’. Around 91% of constituencies in the Royal state, the winners were among the three richest candidates.
