Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is all set to show the doors to more officials on the basis of non-performance. Country’s top security agency RAW had sacked four officials of the Joint Secretary level in August. This time the sword of Damocles seems to be hanging on other 13 officers of the batch of Joint Secretary Level.
Among those, accused of suspicious integrity, four officers belong to the joint secretary level, whereas, the other 13 officers are from the present batch. Ever since the Modi government took charge, the service records of the Under Secretary, DSP Service officers and the field officers are being checked thoroughly.
To avoid complications the officers have not been charged with legal misconduct, even though some of them have already decided to challenge the dismissal in the Central Tribunal before time. The cleaning drive in RAW started only after an air strike on Pathankot airbase since the attack is considered as a failure of RAW, according to a Punjab Kesri report.
So far RAW has dismissed 176 officers apart from the sacked senior Research Analysis Officers. According to rules, the DOPT under PMO gives all rights to RAW to sack employees if found to be not doing jobs properly. These officers are asked to either leave the job themselves or the government will show a way out of the way.
