A senior Supreme Court lawyer Kuljeet Kaur was found murdered with a piece of cloth wrapped around her mouth and her hands and legs tied up inside her bungalow in Noida Sector 31 on Tuesday night.
As claimed by a few reports, Kaur had hired a married couple one week ago as domestic helps but they both are missing since the incident came to light. She was fighting a property dispute case in Supreme Court against her own family.
Kaur had been living by herself since her husband Navjot Singh, passed away on December 22 last year. They didn’t have any children. Kaur was found dead by her younger sister Divya, who found the doors of the Block B house open, the almirahs ransacked and Kaur’s sedan gone when she came to the house around 7.30pm on Tuesday. Divya lives in Delhi’s Shastri Nagar.

The sedan, a Honda City, would be usually parked outside the house. Kaur’s jewellery was also taken, all indications that robbery might have been the motive behind the murder.
Strongly condemning the murder of a Supreme Court Advocate Kuljeet Kaur, the Supreme Court Bar Association has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seeking appropriate measures to protect the lives and properties of Advocates in the State.
