Senior journalist, Rajat Sharma, on Tuesday was elected as the President of the News Broadcasters Association that represents the private television news and current affairs broadcasters in India. He was elected as the President during a board meeting held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Whole-time Director, Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing Co. Ltd, has been elected as the Vice-President and Anurradha Prasad, Chairperson-cum-Managing Director, News24 Broadcast India Ltd has been made the honorary treasurer of NBA.

Since Ashish Bagga resigned as the Group CEO of India Today Group in July 2017, the position of President had been lying vacant. Bagga was made the President in November 2016, after Ashok Venkatramani, Former CEO, ABP News Network resigned from the position.

Rahul Joshi, CEO News & Group Editor-in-Charge, TV18 Broadcast Ltd.; Dr Bhaskar Das, Group CEO – Zee Media Corporation Ltd.; Avinash Pandey, COO, ANN; and Rajiv Singh, Executive Director & COO, Zee Media Corporation are the other members of the association.

Currently, 65 news and current affairs channels as members of the NBA.
