Patna: The Nitish government has now suffered a significant setback, Patna High court has put a stay on the caste-based census.
On Thursday (May 4), the Patna High Court issued its decision on a petition seeking a prohibition on caste censuses.
The Bihar government’s decision was earlier challenged at the Supreme Court. According to the Supreme Court judgement, the Patna High Court should issue an interim order in this case after hearing it in three days. On behalf of the Bihar government, Advocate General PK Shahi was arguing in the Patna High Court.
