Singapore Airlines on Tuesday confirmed monetary compensation and full refunds for passengers aboard its turbulence-stricken London to Singapore flight last month. The incident tragically led to one passenger’s death and several injuries.
On May 21, the Boeing 777-300ER flight SQ321, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, encountered severe turbulence, necessitating an emergency landing in Bangkok. Passengers and crew were violently thrown, causing extensive injuries.
The airline’s statement revealed compensation efforts for both minor and serious injuries. Passengers with minor injuries were offered USD 10,000, while those with more severe injuries were invited for individualized compensation discussions. Affected passengers also received immediate financial aid and medical expense coverage, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to their well-being.
