A 23-year-old woman was shot dead at Shatabdi Rail Vihar society in Noida, Sector 62 on Wednesday morning.

Anjali Rathour was murdered in the parking area of her society early on Wednesday morning. She was rushed to Fortis Hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Rathour was a graduate of Lovely Professional University, was working as a Graduate Engineer in Lava Company in Sector 63 since June 2016. She was a native of Yamuna Nagar in Haryana. The police are suspecting her boyfriend’s hand in the murder.

Police said that the girl used to live in a flat with six flatmates. She received a call on Wednesday morning, who the police suspect, was her boyfriend. She opened the door and came to the ground floor to meet him, where she was shot dead.

The incident was captured on CCTV camera on the ground floor. Her corpse was found by one of her flatmates, who was leaving for tuition.

The girl alerted the other flatmates, who rushed Rathour to Fortis Hospital, where she was declared dead. A police team along with forensic experts reached the spot for investigation.

SP City Noida, Arun Kumar Singh, said that the police are investigating the case. “We have talked to the deceased’s flat mates and relatives. Primary investigation suggests that the deceased’s boyfriend could be behind it. We are investigating the matter and the accused will be arrested soon,” he said.
