This identical note was recently auctioned off for over Rs 14,000,000. Steve Jobs had a significant influence in the early days of Apple. The advertisement dates back to March 1976, just prior to the release of the Apple-1, the company’s first personal computer. This plain sheet of paper contains technical information about the computer. There are also some of Jobs’s ideas about what it could accomplish. It begins by stating that the Apple-1 is a single-board computer system. It then describes its features, such as 8K of RAM, an integrated keyboard, and a TV connection port.

Interesting is that the advertisement also emphasises the Apple-1’s affordability. Jobs emphasises that the board and the manual are the only items included – there are no fancy accessories. This advertisement’s sale for over Rs 14,000,000 demonstrates its significance in the grand narrative of technology.
