Telangana: Anguish continues for TRS, another senior leader resigns

Ahead of Telangana elections, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader Gottimukkala Padma Rao resigned from the party on Sunday over the issue of the ticket distribution system of the party. Following resigning from TRS, Rao attacked the caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and said “Party is heading in a wrong direction”.

Addressing media after the resignation Padma Rao stated, “The party was like a home. I patiently endured, even though many people were subjected to injustice in the party. I looked forward to expecting a change in the situation. But there was no change. While there has been no change in you, the party is heading in a wrong direction.”

During 2014 Telangana elections, Padma Rao contested from the Kukatpally constituency and lost to Madhavaram Krishnarao of TDP, who further shifted to TRS. However, Padma Rao was hoping TRS ticket from Kukatpally but overlooked in 2018 and the Kukatpally constituency was given to Krishnarao.
