Tensions continue a day after a mob pelted stones near the religious place of a community, where the latter was performing idol immersion ceremony. The incident took place at 6 AM on Thursday, October 10 following which a stampede erupted.
Section 144 of the CrPC has been implemented across the region. Various incidents of firing were reported on Friday. According to a Bhaskar report, in a firing incident that took place between two groups in the Gandhi Nagar area, 2 people lost their lives. In a separate incident which occurred in Jawarganj area, several got injured after groups of people went violent.
On Thursday, as many as 14 people, including 4 cops got injured in the pelting incident. 8 of the injured were admitted to the Sadar Hospital.
The internet services were also banned in the district on Thursday.
“As per government instructions internet services have been stopped in your area till further notice,” a Reliance Jio customer received the text from the telecom company.
