This fuel station in Madhya Pradesh is giving Rs 2 off on petrol for a special reason

As the nation is witnessing Lok Sabha Elections, in an attempt to encourage the voters to exercise their franchise, a petrol pump in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh has announced Rs 2 off on petrol on elections day on May 19.

To avail the discount, the people have to show their inked fingers at the petrol station. As per a report by a national daily, owner of the fuel station, Siddarth Jain said any voter can avail the discount at his petrol station located on the Indore-Khandwa road after showing their inked finger on the voting day.

“The country should have a successful democratic government, which is only possible with the active participation of everyone and that is why he decided to give the discount,” said Siddarth.

The petrol pump staff has been instructed to check the inked fingers of the customers before sanctioning them the discount on the voting day.

Earlier, all India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) had announced Rs 50 paisa off on petrol and diesel prices on polling day in their respective constituencies

AIPDA president Ajay Bansal said that this was their small contribution in promoting voting. Around 58,000 dealer members participated in the move.
