The significance and history of Shab e-Barat
According to the Hadeeth (proverbs of the Prophet Muhammad), Shab-e-Barat is a night in which Allah determines the fortunes of humans for the coming year. On this night, it is believed that the gates of mercy and forgiveness are wide open, and people can approach Allah for His infinite mercy.
Therefore, Shab e-Barat is a night filled with blessings for all Muslims, and Muslims must observe its distinctive characteristics:
- Tasqeem-e-umur: death and birth, joy and sorrow, success and failure.
- Faizaan e Bakhshish: absolution granted
- Nazool e Rahmat: favour
- Qabool e Shifaat: intercessional acceptance
- Fazeelat e Ibaadat is the magnificence of devotion.
