Coronavirus Uttar Pradesh LIVE Updates: One more die, total number of positive cases jumps to 2,115

Out of 34 deaths because of COVID-19, 12 were reported in Agra, six in Moradabad, five in Meerut, four in Kanpur, and one each in Aligarh, Shravasti, Firozabad, Lucknow, Bulandshahar, Varanasi, Basti, and Bareilly.

Coronavirus in Kerala: Covid cases continue to rise as 2,476 more test positive

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh has climbed to 2,078 on Wednesday morning. Out of 60 districts that were infected with coronavirus, there are active cases in at least 53 districts at present. The only relief is that so far 463 people have recovered from the deadly disease. There are now 1,557 active cases in the state.

On Wednesday, 18 new cases were reported in Agra taking the total number of infected persons in the district to 422. Agra remained the worst-hit district followed by Lucknow which has reported 217 cases so far. Two new cases were reported in the state capital today morning. One person died on Wednesday morning taking the death count to 34.

Out of 34 deaths because of COVID-19, 12 were reported in Agra, six in Moradabad, five in Meerut, four in Kanpur, and one each in Aligarh, Shravasti, Firozabad, Lucknow, Bulandshahar, Varanasi, Basti, and Bareilly.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has set up a special control room in the Assembly. It has been set up to help MLAs to register their suggestions and complaints regarding the fight against coronavirus.

The decision to this effect was taken on the advice of Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla, said Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit. Birla gave this advice during a video conference with the presiding officers of the State Assemblies.
