Varanasi: Some unknown miscreants opened fire at the ground floor of JHV mall leaving two persons dead and two critically injured inside a branded clothes showroom near the Cantt area of the city. Police reached the spot immediately after getting the information and the injured has been sent to Singh Medical Research Hospital.
The firing took place in the broad daylight in Varanasi’s Cantt and fear has gripped in the area.
Four staff members of the showroom received the bullet injury in the firing and two of them are declared dead by the hospital authority and the rest two are being treated.
Unidentified armed men opened fire at a garment shop in JHV Mall under Cantt police station limits.
SSP Suresh Rao Anand Kulkarni, Superintendent of Police Crime Gyanendra Prasad along with security forces has reached the spot. The forensic team is investigating the crime scene and the police are taking the account of other showroom staff members who were present when the shooting started.
It is being told that the matter started for a discount after the attacker did some shopping from the showroom. When the staff denied the discount asked by the attacker, they opened fire and ran away.
