Story of Ram Janaki Marriage:

According to Ramayana, Lord Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya to King Dasharatha. At the same time, Mother Sita was born to King Janak of Mithila. That is why Mother Sita is also called Janaki. According to the legend, Mother Sita met King Janak in the field while plowing. Sita ji had once lifted the bow of Lord Shiva in a game. This bow was given to King Janak by Parashurama. King Janak was stunned to see Sita Maa lifting the bow, because only Parashuram ji had the ability to lift it. Seeing this quality of Mother Sita, King Janak had put the condition of his swayamvar, that whoever can lift this bow of Shankar ji and offer it to him, Sita ji will be married to him.

Hearing this condition of King Janak, Vishwamitra reached Sita Swayam with Prabhu Shri Ram and Lakshmana. In the swayamvar, all the princes and kings could not lift Shiva’s bow. Frustrated by this, King Janak said, ‘Is there no king worthy of my daughter?

Then came the opportunity of Lord Shri Ram. Lord Rama lifted the bow in one go, which everyone was surprised to see. But Shiva’s bow broke while offering the bow string. Angered by this, Lord Parashuram asked Shri Ram to atone for it. At the same time, seeing the form of Lord Vishnu in Shri Ram, blessed him with marriage to Sita. And with the blessings of everyone, the marriage of Lord Ram and Mata Janaki was completed. Let us tell you that the pair of Ram-Sita is considered ideal in Hinduism. It is believed that reciting this story on the day of Vivah Panchami removes the obstacles in marriage.
