Indian railways have come up with all new Mumbai- Delhi Rajdhani express between Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The train is the first ever train to have a stoppage between Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The train which will run bi-weekly was flagged off by Railway minister Piyush Goyal. It will have stoppage at Agra Cantt, Jhansi, Bhopal, Jalgaon, Nasik Road and Kalyan stations.
New features that the Rajdhani Express offers are as follows:
Free Wifi:
The new Rajdhani express is equipped with free Wifi hotspots and the passenger on board can easily connect their devices to the hotspot. The Indian railways have always been working on providing this facility to the train passenger and are successful in doing so. The passenger can avail 500 hours of free entertainment through this service.
Upgraded Washrooms:
Indian railways washroom are considered unhygienic but this train provides modular bio-toilets which make sure that the waste doesn’t go down on the tracks. Not only this the washrooms also have floor mats, better seats and air fresheners for hygiene purpose. To enhance the cleanliness automatic sensor-based soap dispensers have been installed in the toilets.
Linen:
Quality linen-like bed sheets, pillows, pillow covers and blanket will also be provided to passengers for their comfortable journey. The all-new trolly service will distribute it to the passenger and all the linen will be taken back 30 minutes before the journey ends.
Upgraded 1st AC coach:
The new Rajdhani has also improved the 1st class AC coach with new window rolls, curtains, and also improved washrooms. The passengers will also be provided with the sanitary kit for their personal use.
Feedback facility:
The train also has the facility of Instant feedbacks as the passengers can give their feedback by using the mobile app “Aap ki Rai”. Feedback regarding meals, cleanliness, or any other railway services can be given. This will help the railway staff to understand passenger’s problem and solve them accordingly for their better experience.
3D glasses:
The highlight of the new features added to the Rajdhani express is that the 1st AC coach will get 3D virtual reality device for the entertainment purpose. Passengers can enjoy the beauty outside the window and also they can enjoy the Indian railway’s heritage with 3D graphics with these devices. The devices will be returned back to the staff at the end of the journey.
To book tickets one need to either visit the nearest physical railway counters (PRS) or online through IRCTC website (www.irctc.com).
The new Rajdhani express will benefit several commuters on Central suburbs like Karjat who can now directly board the express from Kalyan station and also will serve as a better facility train for the passengers.
