Adipurush: Who is Manoj Muntasir? All You Need To Know

Who is Manoj Muntashir? Due to his involvement in the ‘Adipurush’ controversy, Manoj Muntashir, also known by his pen name Manoj Shukla, has caused a stir on social media. Viewers of the film have criticised him for the film’s dialogue, with some calling it “cringeworthy” or “inappropriate.” Here are some details about Muntashir if you’re interested in learning more about him.

Manoj Muntashir, 47 years old, was born in Gauriganj, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, and is an Indian lyricist, poet, dialogue writer, and screenwriter. He attended HAL School Korwa throughout his childhood. Muntashir is well-known for his work as a lyricist, having composed songs for a large number of Hindi films. ‘Galliyan’ from ‘Ek Villain,’ ‘Dil Meri Na Sune’ from ‘Genius,’ and ‘Teri Mitti’ from ‘Kesari’ are notable examples.

In addition to his contributions to the music industry, Muntashir has written scripts for television programmes such as “India’s Got Talent” and “Indian Idol Junior.” He was commissioned to write Hindi dialogue for the Hollywood film Black Panther.

In addition to his creative endeavours, Muntashir has published the book “Meri Fitrat Hai Mastana.” His exceptional songwriting has earned him numerous accolades, including Radio Mirchi Music Awards, Star Guild Awards, Hungama Surfers’ Choice Award, and Arab Indo Bollywood Awards. His lyrics have received widespread praise from listeners around the world.

Muntashir is married to the housewife Neelam Shukla, and they have a son named Aaru Shukla.

In 2019, a one-minute Twitter video titled “Who Are Your Ancestors?” sparked controversy. Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan criticised Muntashir’s assertions that the country had been influenced by the glorification of figures such as Akbar, Humayun, and Jehangir. Ghaywan described the video’s lines as “bigotry laced with casteism” when Muntashir said, “Choose Your Legacy And Your Heroes!”

Regarding the recent ‘Adipurush’ dialogue controversy, Muntashir explained that storytellers in the country frequently employ similar language. To create a natural tone for the characters, he chose to use this language, highlighting the fact that he is not the first person to write dialogues in this manner.
