On Monday, Souchana Seth, CEO of the artificial intelligence start-up The Mindful AI Lab, was arrested near Chitradurga, Karnataka, while transporting her four-year-old son’s body. According to Goa DGP Jaspal Singh, she has been accused of murdering her four-year-old son.
According to the Goa Police, the woman allegedly killed her son in a hotel room in Candolim, North Goa, so as not to allow her ex-husband to see the child. The couple had been married since 2010 and their son was born in 2019.
After a dispute in 2020, the couple got divorced. The court had ordered that the father meet their son on Sundays. Hotel staff became suspicious after the woman checked with her son and left alone.
The local police were alerted shortly afterward by hotel staff and a taxi driver confirmed that the woman was indeed traveling alone. Subsequently, the woman was arrested and the body of the child was discovered.

The murder of her son
The police allege that the accused planned a trip to Goa with her child in order to keep her estranged husband from seeing their son. She is said to have killed the child in the hotel room in North Goa prior to the scheduled meeting.
The crime was discovered when hotel staff became suspicious after noting that the woman had checked in with her son but left the hotel alone.
The family contacted emergency services (112), after which the police located and arrested the woman. Police found the body of the boy in the car she was driving. The woman has been charged with murder and is currently in custody.
