Police has registered a complaint against a Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) block district secretary RL Jeevan Lal after a woman alleged him of an attempt to molestation. She has stated that Jeevan Lal attempted to rape her in Irinjalakuda MLA’s room at MLA hostel in Thiruvananthapuram.
The incident took place on July 11 after which she filed a complaint to a CPM leader. According to a report in Mathrubhumi, the woman alleges that when she complained about the incident to a CPM leader, they tried to settle it without taking any action.
The Deputy Police Superintendent Varghese has recorded the victim’s statement and the police has forwarded the petition to Kattoor Sub Inspector. The woman is native of Kattoor in Thrissur district in Kerala. Since the incident occurred in Thiruvananthapuram, the police will be further transferring the case to the respective police station.
