Even though swimming might not be the best choice for everyone, it is a great option for people who live in homes with pools. Not surprisingly, swimming is the best way to lose weight and keep your muscles toned, even though it’s hard work. But don’t go on a hog fest after swimming.

A Pilates

Pilates might not be the best exercise on this list, but it is easy to do and great for people who are just starting out. Additionally, it is a clear and concise practice if you want to keep working out all year. The most important benefit? Not only does it help you lose weight, but it also improves your general fitness, strength, balance, and flexibility.

Have fun with the kids

It’s likely that you’ll see more little kids than normal during the holidays. Make the most of the kids being there and try to cash in on how excited they are about the vacation. Play with your nieces and nephews instead of becoming overwhelmed by all the extra tasks you have to complete when you have young children around. You can chase the ornery kids around the house or go for a walk with the bigger kids to see the holiday decorations in the neighborhood. Through the busy holiday season, you’ll have to find time to work out, and the kids will probably get you in the holiday spirit.

Make plans

Because of how busy the Diwali season is, it’s possible to forget to do something important like exercise. You won’t forget to go to the gym if you write it down on your calendar and stick to it like you would any other schedule. Be fair and consistent when you set goals for exercise. For example, if you’re having trouble staying inspired, make it a goal to work out every day for at least 10 minutes. Even if it only lasts 10 minutes, making a promise to do something will help you get into a habit.

Get the family to help

You don’t have to stay home and eat all day (and night) to spend time with your family and friends. A dance contest with a Diwali theme or a game that requires you to be busy and on the move are great ways to start the party. Taking a walk around the block to look at the Diwali decorations is an easy way to get everyone moving.
