World Emoji Day was celebrated on 17 July. On the occasion, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, posted a graphic on Facebook, depicting the largest number of emojis used worldwide and the countries where they are mostly used.

Countries like USA, UK, France, Indonesia and Thailand were depicted in the graphic, but no mention was made of India. The post left the Indians furious and they have expressed anger over the same.

They sought an answer from Zuckerberg over why India was left out from the graphic. Stating the fact that India makes the maximum use of the emojis after America, they questioned why India wasn’t included in the list. Besides India, no African country was included in the graphic.

According to the graphic, the most popular emoji used in the world is the laughing emoji. Britain is the country where the usage of this emoji is the largest. Similar emojis are also quite popular in Thailand.
