A 22-year-old girl hailing from Nalbari was allegedly raped by her boyfriend and his friends at a hotel in Guwahati.
According to the reports, the incident happened in Suncity hotel in paltan bazaar on January 1. Her boyfriend Muhammad Imdadul Islam from Chotobozra, Hazirhat in Dhubri had come to Guwahati with the girl to celebrate new year and had booked an OYO room. Later, in the evening Islam’s friends have joined them and spiked her food & drink with sedatives. After she lost consciousness, they raped her all night and vanished the other day.
When the victim gained conscious the other day, she found herself alone and even after repeatedly calling Islam didn’t respond to her calls and at lastly she filled a complaint against them.
The case has been registered and a search operation has been launched.
Earlier also a professor was arrested in Guwahati for allegedly attempting to rape a woman.
