Banka is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. Here, the incumbent Member of Parliament and Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav is pitted against Janta Dal (United) hope Girdhari Yadav.

According to data by Election Commission of India, 2009, there are 1,338,025 of which 716,138 are males and 621,887 are females. In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, five seats of Bihar are set to undergo polling. The other four constituencies from Bihar which will vote on April 18 are Katihar, Purnia, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur.
