IMD Weather forecast: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain over the next two days in several days, warning of severe downpours in multiple states in India such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
According to the later forecast, IMD has predicted that intense rainfall will continue over Gujarat, Rajasthan and neighboring Madhya Pradesh for the next 2 days and a gradual decrease from the third day. An increase in rainfall is also expected over the northern parts of India from July 27.
The IMD claimed in a press release that a northward shift of the monsoon trough is predicted, causing more rainfall in northern parts of India.
The weather forecasting agency said that as a result of the monsoon trough shift, a low-pressure area lies over southwestern Rajasthan and the surrounding area and the associated cyclonic circulation will extend to mid-tropospheric levels, according to ANI reports.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been observed in western Madhya Pradesh in recent days and is likely to continue for the next two days.
In Chhattisgarh, some regions of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Konkan and Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places. Isolated places over Western Rajasthan, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Southern Interiors of Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Punjab also experienced very heavy rainfall.
According to IMD’s weather forecast, the heavy to very heavy rainfall caused by the monsoon valley is likely to continue for the next 3-4 days and is likely to decrease after July 27. A cyclonic circulation overlies southeastern Madhya Pradesh and neighborhoods in the lower and middle tropospheric levels that tilt to the south with elevation.
The monsoon shift will bring fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Gujarat, Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh during the 24th to 26th, over northern Konkan and adjacent ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during July 24-25.
