Abedin’s 13-year-old son, Jordan, had an essential role in the ceremony and he too was dressed by Ralph Lauren. “It was his first real suit,” recalls Abedin. We’ve just had a really positive experience doing that with my mother-in-law. Meanwhile, Abedin’s mother, Saleha Mahmood Abedin, was in custom Prabal Gurung, with the bridesmaids in custom Carolina Herrera. “I just wanted them to be in dresses that they really loved and would wear again and again,” Abedin adds. The works were absolutely beautiful.
Though the opulent surroundings were enchanting, this unexpected whimsical moment helped to convey the intimacy and spontaneity that characterized this wedding from beginning to end.
