Gigi Hadid In Epstein Files: Supermodel Gigi Hadid has now spoken in public after her name, and her sister Bella Hadid’s name, appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files. The issue came from a 2015 email exchange between Epstein and another person whose name was blacked out in the documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice. In that email, the unnamed person asked how Gigi, now 30, and Bella, now 29, had become successful models and earned so much money.
Epstein first replied, “You know,” and when the other person suggested their father may have “paid the agency,” he answered, “No,” and then added, “Because they follow directions, it’s that simple.” Recent coverage by People and InStyle says Gigi later responded after people online questioned why she had stayed silent.
After the email became public, one social media user reportedly wrote under one of Gigi’s Instagram posts on March 29 that they “had to unfollow” her because she had not said anything about being named in the files. That appears to be what pushed Gigi to reply in a comment that was later deleted.

In that message, she explained why she had not spoken earlier and made it clear that she did not want people to misunderstand her silence. Both People and InStyle reported that she said she stayed quiet at first because she did not want attention to move away from the women who said they were harmed by Epstein.
Her Reply Was Clear and Emotional
In her deleted reply, Gigi said, “Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,” She also wrote, “I didn’t comment bc I don’t want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe it’s not clear—and it’s important to let you know.” She then made her position very direct. “To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email — is disturbing. And I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.”
Gigi also spoke about her own life and background in the same reply. She said she did grow up with privilege, but she said her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, raised her with discipline and taught her to value hard work.
She also said that after she signed with a modeling agency in 2012, she had “worked hard for every moment since.” Her response was meant to answer the suggestion in the email that her success came from something improper. According to the recent reports, she wanted people to understand that she built her career through work and had no link to Epstein.

The Case still Carries Painful Weight
The reason this issue matters so much is because Epstein’s crimes affected many women over many years. Many women came forward and accused him of sexual abuse between 2008 and 2019. In July 2019, he was arrested and charged with one count of sex trafficking of minors and one count of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of minors.
A few weeks later, on August 10, 2019, he died by suicide in jail while he was waiting for trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. Because of that history, Gigi’s name appearing in those files created shock online, even though the reports say she stated clearly that she had never had any affiliation with him.
