GATE 2027 Registration Tomorrow: The GATE 2027 application form is set to be released tomorrow, August 14, 2026, with the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) opening for candidates on the official website, gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The examination is being organised by IIT Madras on behalf of the National Coordination Board (GATE), Ministry of Education.

What Should Candidates Keep Ready?
1. Keep an active mobile number as well as email ID, the number should match with the one written in DigiLocker.
2. Update your DigiLocker account. If you haven’t created it yet, then do the signup part. IIT Madras will pull the relevant details like name, date of birth, email ID, address, profile picture, verified ID number.
3. You’ll need a laptop with webcam facility OR a phone that has 5MP camera for the GATE facial registration.
4. Also arrange a scanned photo and a signature, both as per the given specifications.
5. If you fall under a reserved category, make sure your category certificate is up to date, and it should be scanned and saved in PDF format.
6. For PwD/Dyslexic applicants, upload the PwD/Dyslexic certificate too, scanned in PDF format.
7. Have a valid photo ID scanned in PDF format. This can include PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.
8. Finally, check the GATE zones, and keep at least 6 test cities selected. This helps with faster submission when you fill the form.

GATE 2027 Registration Tomorrow: Eligibility
According to the official information brochure, candidates studying in the third or higher year of an eligible undergraduate programme can apply. Graduates of eligible Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts and Humanities programmes can also appear.
Candidates studying in the fifth, sixth, seventh or higher semester of certain listed programmes, including MBBS, BDS, BVSc and BSc Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry, are also eligible under the prescribed conditions. There is no age limit for GATE 2027.
How to Apply for GATE 2027?
1. Visit the GATE 2027 Official Website.
2. Register on GOAPS with your email and mobile number.
3. Complete form details and link via DigiLocker if prompted.
4. Upload photo, signature, and ID proofs.
5. Pay the fee online and submit.
What Happens After Registration?
The application rectification window is planned to open on October 14, 2026 and then shut on October 21, 2026. After that the city allotment notice is due on January 4, 2027.
The GATE 2027 examinations will happen in February, and after that, the scheduled results are expected to be announced on March 19, 2027.
