Gold, Silver Rates Today, August 22:
Gold and silver prices remain stuck firmly in focus on Saturday, August 22, 2026, after both precious metals put in strong gains in the previous trading session. Gold even crossed the ₹1.60 lakh per 10 gram mark on the domestic futures market, while silver moved over ₹2.45 lakh per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Now this latest push seems backed by a softer US dollar, a safer haven demand and fresh worries around broader global economic and geopolitical risks.
Since August 22 is a Saturday, MCX is not conducting its regular Saturday trading session. Therefore, the latest MCX figures available to investors are from Friday, August 21.

The near term course of gold and silver is probably staying touchy to the US dollar, bond yields, Fed expectations, geopolitical changes and money inflows from investors. Since gold has climbed notably for three straight weeks and silver also showed a sudden weekly uptick. Traders might look for more stretch higher but also some profit taking in the next few trading sessions.
