The government flouting the Supreme Court guidelines has made Aadhaar card mandatory to avail majority of the government’s welfare and non-welfare schemes. It is believed that central government is on the move to make Aadhaar as the only identity card in the future. Ranging from financial transactions, beneficiary schemes, filing of IT returns, and education, everything runs the risk of being under surveillance in the future.
People took to Twitter using the hashtag #AadhaarFail to highlight the repeated instances of Aadhaar data leaks which are highly concerning. Here are some of the tweets:
RS Prasad had said that ‘law will be ignited’ if there are data leaks. But there’s a rider:
Only against citizens, not Govt. #AadhaarFail pic.twitter.com/3uF5ojnc1s

I wish more people, irrespective of the politics they support, had the basic awareness to understand #AadhaarFail and how it endangers them.
