Amethi Lok Sabha constituency is located in Avadh region of Uttar Pradesh in India. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there were a total of 1718401 eligible voters. The seat went to the polls during fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 6, 2019.
The seat has almost always been held by the Indian National Congress (INC), save for a half-dozen years in the late 1970s and late 1990s. Rahul Gandhi held the seat for the longest period, from 2004 to 2019, and the seat had also been held by his mother, father, and uncle.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won by a margin of 1,07,903 votes.
