India’s champion athlete Hima Das has just flown back from Turkey Hima Das after her undergoing practice following the Asian Games to give her Class 12th exam. When on Tuesday Das reached to give her first higher secondary final examination after a year gap.
Earlier she was appointed as The United Nations Children’s Fund-India (Unicef-India) first ever youth ambassador.
The name of the woman athlete from Assam was announced by the world organisation in a tweet evening coinciding with the Children’s Day celebrated on November 14 commemorating the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday.

She was earlier conferred with Arjuna Award by the President of India and also was appointed as the state’s brand ambassador for sports by the Government of Assam.
Das is India’s first ever athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championship.
