The ideologue of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Rakesh Sinha was booked by the police officials of Kolkatta under several non-bailable sections for inciting communal violence.

Rakesh Sinha has been accused of posting a communally insensitive tweet on 12 July using his Twitter account. He is booked under 153 A1 (A)(B), 505(1)(B),295A,120B.

According to Sinha’s lawyer, someone named Manoj Kumar Singh filed the complaint against him, calling his post “provocative” that can lead to communal tension and riots. The FIR has been lodged against me in Kolkata without any evidence and registered without any annexure. Mamata Banerjee wants to silence her opponents and this mentality needs to be crushed. Freedom of Expression is under threat and she is using the police and administration as the B-team of TMC,” Sinha told in an interview.

The interview of RSS thinker came when Bengal Police booked a local BJP IT cell leader for spreading fake news. This is not the first time when some BJP leader has been booked under the non-baliable section for inflicting communal violence. Earlier BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma too was booked under the same sections for sharing the fake photo from 2002 Gujarat genocide passing it off as a sign of destruction from the recent communal tension in Bengal.

Bengal has faced communal tension recently when Muslims went on the rampage and burning houses belonging to Hindu community and vice versa.
