Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), spoke with Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, during the second day of the united Opposition meeting on Tuesday in Bengaluru. In attendance as well are the President of the Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, and the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar.

“A coordinating committee consisting of eleven people will be established. We are going to have another meeting in Mumbai, and during that meeting, we are going to talk about the people who will be on the coordination committee. Kharge stated during the joint press conference that followed the meeting in Bengaluru that the date will be revealed in the near future.

At the meeting of 38 members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which was led by the BJP, Kharge claimed that we had not even heard the names of several parties. This was a jab at the gathering.

“The NDA is currently holding a meeting with thirty different parties. I was surprised to learn that India has so many different parties. Previously, they did not participate in any meetings; however, as of late, they have been meeting one by one (with NDA parties). Prime Minister Modi is now concerned about the opposition parties. As Kharge stated, “We have gathered here in order to save democracy and the Constitution.”
