A 35-year-old teacher who teaches history at a coaching centre was thrashed over praising the value of casteless society and freedom of expression. His poem irked the community members that they trashed him outside the coaching centre from Mansarovar.

Teacher, Gajendra Singh Kaviya teaches history at a coaching centre for RAS in Riddhi Siddhi area. He told a national daily, that his freedom was exploited by the ones who didn’t agree with him.

The abductors were known to the teacher who wrote the poem. He also said that he is been invited to an event in an event for poetry in Nagaur but his own community people are saying that his invite should be withdrawn as they think he is a leftist who doesn’t believe in God and community.

The teacher narrated the ordeal by saying that like every day he was teaching when some people called them out and confronted him in the poem. He told them that he deleted the post, following which they took him into the car and thrashed him near Muhana Mandi.

When the police got the information regarding the abduction at 12 pm, they sprang in action and took them to the police station for a brief discussion after which the teacher filed a complaint against them. The abductors were known to him and the police are probing the matter.
