A 24-year-old dhaba owner was shot at by a customer after an argument broke out when the he stopped the accused from using cash counter’s switchboard to charge his mobile phone. The incident took place on Monday evening in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar.

The police received a call around 5 PM and were informed that a man had been shot at in front of Peeli Kothi.

After reaching the spot, it was found that one Gaurav, the owner of the eatery, sustained bullet injury following an argument with a customer over mobile phone charging.

The victim said on Monday, a man had put his mobile phone on charging without informing anybody and left. After a while when he came back, Gaurav asked him why he did not inform about the phone, following which a heated argument took place between them.

The customer left the eatery threatening Gaurav that he would come back to teach him a lesson. Later he returned with his two accomplices and allegedly whipped out a pistol and shot Gaurav on the right arm

The accused fled the spot as the owner started bleeding profusely. The staff of the eatery then informed the police about the incident.

Reportedly, a case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been registered and investigations are underway. Teams have been formed to identify and nab the attackers.
