Will contest next Assembly elections: Rajinikanth

2 days after publishing a scathing article, DMK mouthpiece Murasoli’s editor, S Selvam came up with a statement saying that the editorial team has been advised to take care while publishing such write-ups.

“Who is the black sheep…Mae..Mae…Mae”, titled op-ed, comprised of a conversation between Mr Rajinikanth and an “innocent” fan. In the article, a fictitious dialogue takes place between the two. The conversation was a satire with the fan mocking the actor’s involvement in politics.

Just hours after the publication of the article, the actor said that no force could create a dividing line between him and his fans. The article also hinted that BJP has resulted in the Rajinikanth, the politician, who have their own interests in creating a backdoor entry into the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

It was in the late December last year when Rajinikanth announced his entry into politics, he stated his plans to form a political party and contesting 234 constituencies in the 2021 Assembly polls.

Murasoli is an Indian Tamil newspaper. It is a mouthpiece newspaper of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam political party and was founded by the former Chief M. Karunanidhi in the year 1942.
