Indian Student and Former NITI Aayog Official Passes Away: The 33-year-old deceased, Cheistha Kochhar, was doing a PhD at the London School of Economics when she was run over by a truck on March 19. She worked previously for NITI Aayog. Kochar was cycling home when she was hit by a garbage truck.

Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog, posted about it on LSE. She died while cycling in London in a terrible traffic accident. She was brilliant, brave, and full of life. Gone too soon. RIP.”

Her husband Prashant, who was cycling ahead of her during the accident, rushed her to the hospital where she was declared dead. Police are currently interviewing the driver of the truck. No arrests have been made.
