Fondly known as Bauji, Om Prakash Jindal’s life is indeed inspiring. Born to a farmer in Haryana on August 7, 1930, Jindal’s determination and vision was incredible. He always wanted to see country developing economically – but the journey from a village boy to building up a multi-billion dollar empire wasn’t easy. However, he successfully made himself known as a ‘Machine man.’

Jindal started his career in 1952 and created thousands of jobs and built several schools and hospitals. He taught people to dream and also showed ways to achieve them with immense hard work and determinations. On his 12th death anniversary, let’s remember a man whose entire life is an inspiration.

Since childhood, Jindal was attracted towards technical work. He always wanted to bring business revolution in India and see country growing economically. However, he neither had any experience nor money to do so. But, he had an immense willpower.

In 1952, he began with a small bucket-manufacturing unit in Hisar. And almost after a decade in 1964, he commissioned a Pipe Unit Jindal India Limited, along with a factory in 1969 under the name Jindal Strips Limited. Soon he progressed and created thousands of jobs in backward areas along with building schools and hospitals.

Bauji knew that his success lies in his honesty, thus his only motive was to take the nation to the next level. He always believed that without the progression of weaker and backward sections of society, India’s dream of being a leading country in the world will not be unfulfilled.

He later devoted himself to making machines which were significant to the country then. However, considering his lack of experience in the sector, it proved to be a tough decision. But he didn’t stop. And Jindal’s fondness for machines helped him to discover new devices over the years.

The unique thing about him was his strong vision and beliefs. Bauji always wanted India to be self-reliant. He travelled several countries to bring forth the latest industrial technical development and expertise. He appropriately used his exposure to enhance production of his industrial establishments.
