A day after Bharatiya Janata Party-led government on Monday, August 5,  announced the abolition of Article 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and announced that Jammu and Kashmir would now be a Union Territory (UT) with a Legislative Assembly while Ladakh would be a UT without a Legislative Assembly Congress, MP Manish Tewari gave Adjournment Motion Notice in Lok Sabha over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.


3:20 PM | Akhilesh Yadav said that the Modi government should have taken all parties into confidence before taking any such decision.

“A country runs on consensus and all parties should have been consulted and taken into confidence. Putting leaders under house arrest or exerting pressure on people is not correct, but BJP knows how to bring institutions under its thumb. The question is what will happen to PoK now,” Akhilesh Yadav asked.
