Ahead of Madhya Pradesh polls, both Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) are in loggerheads with ticket aspirants. However, BJP has finalized 170 names for assembly elections including sitting MLAs and debutants. The BJP is ruling in Madhya Pradesh since 2003. As a result, the party is facing a potential anti-incumbency in the state.
According to sources, many of the BJP sitting MLAs would face the axe over the fear of anti-incumbency and poor performance in their respective areas. And around 60 MLAs have been denied tickets and several sitting MPs of Madhya Pradesh are likely to be included in candidates list, sources claimed.
State BJP unit has already finalized list for almost 170 seats and will be forwarded to Central Election Committee in New Delhi, said BJP leaders on Sunday.
