In the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition is coming together to create a united front against the current ruling BJP government. The opposition parties are proposing to form a Mahagathbandhan. The Mahagathbandhan meet that was initiated by Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu is garnering support across parties.
Various top echelons are expected to participate in the meeting and become a part of the grand alliance. The list could include, Rahul Gandhi, the head of Congress, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is also the head of Trinamool Congress, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M K Stalin and the head of National Congress Party Sharad Pawar.
