Aurangabad: A gym trainer and his family drove a woman out of the house because she was not able to conceive. The family members along with the trainer have been booked in a case.
The woman who belongs to the Kalyan area in Mumbai has married a gym trainer from the Satara area in 2011. Everything was going fine and cordial between the couple until the woman got her medical examination done.
Even after certain counseling sessions, the relation between the woman and her in-laws failed to change as a result of which the woman had to reach out to the woman redressal branch of the police.
The complainant has stated in her complaint that her husband and her in-laws used to harass her mentally and physically because she was unable to conceive from the past few years. Apart from being referred to as infertile, she was also subjected to domestic violence over small issues in the family, she alleged.
The woman further claimed that her in-laws have demanded a couple of lakh rupees for starting a new gym as a dowry that her father has failed to pay. In the turn of which she was tortured and harassed mentally and physically for not bringing money from her parents.
Satara area police have booked six family members that include three women on the charges of domestic violence, causing hurt, intentionally insult to provoke a person and criminal intimidation.
The investigation officer involved in the case said that the gym trainer and his family members have been summoned to record their respective statements and the gym trainer has also alleged that currently, they were out if town. Further action would be taken after the statements would be recorded.
