New Delhi: Delhi-NCR was caught off guard late Saturday night as a sudden and intense dust storm swept through the region, followed by heavy rain and thunderstorms, triggering panic among residents and commuters.
Around midnight, social media platforms lit up with videos from Central Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and surrounding areas, showing near-zero visibility on roads as powerful winds battered trees, streetlights, and vehicles.
Cars were seen pulling over, emergency flashers blinking, as drivers struggled to navigate through the blinding dust and rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed the stormy weather and has forecast light rain and thunderstorms to continue across the capital region today. According to IMD, strong winds clocking over 40 km/h hit parts of Delhi and NCR, reducing air quality dramatically in a matter of minutes and bringing down temperatures slightly after a day of intense heat.
